Breakfast at the hotel. Then drive to Sevan Lake. Visit Sevanavank monastery located at the top of the peninsula and admire the panoramic view of Sevan Lake. Visit Dilijan resort town, which is known as “Armenian Switzerland”. Visit Haghartsin Monastery. Drive to Tsaghkadzor (means “gorge of flowers”) town, the magical place of forested mountains. Opportunity to go up to the mountain peaks by a rope way (at additional cost), where you will catch an unforgettable, gorgeous panoramic view of this part of the world (going up the first level and back). In winter, Tsakhkadzor is a well- known ski resort with several levels of ropeways leading up the mountains. In summer, it’s a pleasant place to spend the afternoon in nature and enjoy the sun. Day 4

Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. The day starts with a tour to the pagan temple of Garni. Garni Temple was built in the 1st century by the Armenian King Tiridates I and dedicated to the God of the Sun Areg (Mihr). The temple is at the edge of a triangular cliff, which overlooks the ravine of the Azat River and the Gegham mountains. Next visit Geghard monastery complex (IV century), which is included in the list of World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. Its full name is Geghardavank, literally it is translated as “Monastery of the spear”. The name of the monastery complex comes from Christ Spear Spear of Longinus, which the Roman soldier Longinus thrust into Jesus Christ. The spear is now kept in the treasury of Echmiadzin Cathedral. Drive back to Yerevan city. Overnight at the hotel in Yerevan.

Day 5

|
Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Khor Virap Monastery. To this day, you can visit the underground chamber where St. Gregory the Illuminator, the first Armenian Patriarch, was imprisoned for 13 years before curing King Trdat III of a disease. This caused the conversion of the king and Armenia into the first officially Christian nation in the world in the year 301. Its location, near the closest point to Mount Ararat within Armenian borders, offers a spectacular view of the mountain, the national symbol of Armenia. Then we will drive to Areni Winery for a degustation and presentation of local wine. Proceed to Noravank Monastery (13-14th centuries), an architectural gem nestled among brick-red cliffs, just above a deep gorge. Drive back to Yerevan.
